Overall Satisfaction with Codecademy from Skillsoft

We use Codecademy from Skillsoft to develop our knowledge and skills in web design, web development, cybersecurity, and miscellaneous topics in data science. Our firm is delivering more digital content, compared to the prepandemic period, and none of us on the team received any formal training in information technology or coding. Codecademy from Skillsoft provides the resources for us to learn or improve skills necessary in a digital world - these resources are relevant, easily accessible, and effective.

Pros

  • The content is relevant to our projects, and therefore adds value to our goals.
  • The content is delivered in a way that is conducive to adult learning, e.g., chunked into bite-size amounts (not overwhelming), uses language that is easy to understand (no technical jargon), a good mix of didactic content and quizzes (the latter adds an element of interaction).
  • The user interface is logical and user-friendly.
  • Codecademy from Skillsoft makes it easy to track your progress, not only within a course, but also relative to your weekly target.

Cons

  • I would like to see more video content, including introductory videos (the latter tend to make the lessons feel more personal). Some people may learn better with videos, compared to text and images only.
  • Recommended reading lists may be helpful to those who want to gain a deeper understanding of the topics.
  • Codecademy from Skillsoft is accessible at anytime and anywhere.
  • Functionalities that motivate persons to continue learning, e.g., tracking progress in course completion, progress relative to the learner's weekly target, certificates of completion.
  • The content helps us to acquire new knowledge and skills easily.
  • Codecademy from Skillsoft plans are cost-effective.
  • Having improved our proficiency in web development and web design through Codecademy from Skillsoft , we are able to deploy new websites or update existing ones more quickly and efficiently.
  • The courses in cybersecurity have enhanced our skills in protecting our business against malicious online threats. The benefits of keeping our data secure online is immeasurable.
