Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense

We use Concur Travel as a global organization to manage expenses and travel, and it is our official tool required for any corporate travel. This product does a great job keeping all travel and expenses in one place to manage based on your organization and team. It also allows you to track all manual expenses which are itemized so you can approve/deny requests.

Pros

  • Booking travel and restricting display based on the preferred partners.
  • Itemized reporting for expenses.
  • Ease of submitting a report and combining expense types into one overall report.

Cons

  • The user interface is very old school in the looks department and could use a refresh.
  • It does take a little bit of using to understand what is needed to submit a report, so it could use some intuitive setup.
  • It helps keep your expenses under control and helps the user adhere to their budget restrictions and requirements for travel/expenses.
  • It is a very quick and easy process to review and approve expenses for multiple people and groups to save time pouring through all the expenses.
  • Makes it easy and simple for the user to get reimbursed quickly and efficiently.
I have not reviewed any other products as I am not in charge of managing the products used at the corporate level.
I would say it has helped the organization by allowing the employees to use self service, and keeps all expenses under control to stay within your budget restrictions. It is hard to go over your budget when you have a product like this to help keep it all under control and in one place.
It helps the employee experience in that it isn't a hassle to have to submit your expenses for reimbursement. Many times this is the most annoying thing about travelling or spending money for work purposes, but this tool makes that process easy.
Concur is great to use when you need to book a flight/car/hotel and is very easy to add these options together into one purchase. It stores your payment information and preferences, so its easy to find what you need and based on your company requirements for travel, which it tells you also. It's also very easy to submit individual expense reports and allows you to upload documents for receipts, and links to your credit card information very easily for a seamless reporting experience.

The tool is very user friendly and easy to submit, however when a submission is rejected, it is somewhat difficult to understand how to make the proper adjustments to the reporting to correct the issue or specific accounting requirements for budgeting. It can also be difficult linking your credit card payments to the reporting system (and doing that correctly) so that it is approved without issues. That part is not as seamless, but the rest of the tool is very easy to put together and submit requests.

We as employees can submit and book our own travel now without having to ask someone else to do it, allowing us the convenience and choosing our own book times. Whenever we have large group events, it is also easier to manage those expenses instead of worrying how we will all be reimbursed for any out of pocket expenses.
It is applicable to any department within our company, without needing any additional effort to expand it further.
It is easy to use and connects to other systems like rideshares and credit cards allowing you to manage it all centrally.
