Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense
[It's being used by the] Entire organization to expense travel (air + auto rentals) as well as submit reimbursements requests for expense meals during company travel. I personally use these services 3-4 times a year but many use Concur several times every month. It allows us to be able to submit expense reports and assign it to a specific internal marketing code so that finance can easily approve submitted expenses. Each version gets more user-friendly.
Pros
- Assign internal accounting codes
- Mobile version allows expense submittal on the fly
- Dashboard allows you to easily check in status of past expense reports
Cons
- Less fields to fill out when submitting an expense request
- Making high level buttons more prominent / user friendly
- The entire receipt attaching function - even with newer versions, it is still not entirely clear where you are to attach receipt images ...
- It has become easier for me to submit expenses. I can not however speak to the overall ROI impact, etc. as a user, rather than manager of this software.
Salesforce. I do not personally use it, however, so cannot speak to the user friendliness of it. I do know however that our company has used Salesforce integrated with Concur for several years now.
The improved smart phone interface has been a welcome update!
We are much more effective in being able to be reimbursed for our travel expenses than if we were doing this by hand delivery. Our company is almost primarily a remote environment so this fact becomes a necessity in our case.
SAP Concur Attributes
Do you think SAP Concur delivers good value for the price?
Yes
Are you happy with SAP Concur's feature set?
Yes
Did SAP Concur live up to sales and marketing promises?
I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process
Did implementation of SAP Concur go as expected?
Yes
Would you buy SAP Concur again?
Yes
- Digital proof uploads or easy to upload and attach (if done correctly)
- The app allows very user-intuitive, on-the-fly ways to quickly capture as you travel
- The receipt attachment function on the desktop version — receipts have to be attached to each individual line item expense rather than as a single image of all receipts for that report.
Reimbursements are processed and distributed to employees much more efficiently — no more emailed, hand filled out reports.
Product Benefits
- It allows for a myriad formats when attaching expense proof. So I can attach a photo, scan or PDF without needing convert any files
- Once submitted, the expense report requires no further action from me and is automated once I submit it.
I remember the days of hand filling out forms, attaching actual hard copy receipts and walking down the halls of the office building to submit expense reports and then making that same walk several times over the subsequent weeks to check in on the status, etc. Not to mention then waiting until the hard copy check was printed and taking it to the bank (it's amazing that I even bothered sometimes lol). That all said, Concur makes all of the aforementioned steps very painless and there is now a digital trail for follow up from me on reimbursement status and for Accounting to ensure the reports are filled out correctly and have proper documentation in case of an audit.
I've had limited interaction with other expense software, so can not truthfully comment on this question.
I now receive reimbursements in a very timely fashion and it has taken the guess work out wondering if I've attached all the proper documentation (pings you if you forget to attach a digital receipt as you go, for example). Also, it is nice having a digital archive of all past and current expense reports to refer to as a process of checks and balances.
