Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense

Concur Travel and Expense is used at some of our partner companies, and I have personally used it at times to book travel and expenses. It was used specifically for my division and allowed us to automate and integrate expense management. It was very easy for us to track our expenses from different sources, and receive accurate T&E data to simplify the process of booking travel and expenses for everyone.
  • Very intuitive interface and easy to use.
  • Allows for simple tracking of expense data all in one place from multiple sources.
  • Automatically captures receipts so reports can be processed quickly, and employees can be reimbursed efficiently.
  • Sometimes comments added in response to management questions can be glitchy/buggy.
  • Miles driven need to be tracked manually for the most part, and can't be brought over from GPS data.
  • 3rd party integration support could be improved, currently it does not compare to integrating directly with SAP.
  • Simple audit trail that is easy to follow.
  • Employees have no need to keep track of receipts, their corporate card can be directly linked within Concur Travel and Expense.
  • Reports are consistent across all employee permissions levels.
In the past we've used spreadsheets and manual uploads, which can be nightmarish, and the Concur Travel and Expense app streamlines in every way. Tripadvisor has a simpler interface, but lacks all the robust functionality of a true Travel and Expense management system. Expensify is used by many smaller clients, and while it works fairly well, the audit trail and reporting cannot compete with what Concur Travel and Expense has to offer.
We have integrated different 3rd party custom ERPs with Concur Travel and Expense. We were able to get a base level of the integration up and running, but it wasn't nearly as easy to execute as tying it into other systems. Since it is standalone and meant to be integrated with SAP it does not feel like 3rd party support is a high priority.
OCR for receipts is really nice, if you don't want to tie accounts directly to corporate cards. If you elect to tie to corporate cards, it really makes everything flow nicely. Simply being able to configure whichever you prefer and be accommodated properly by Concur Travel and Expense is a nice benefit. It is employee friendly and involves less resistance than implementing many other types of software systems within an organization.
At different small and medium companies we've been able to quickly onboard everyone with little resistance getting them to smoothly streamlined their expense management. While the UI can be bland, its purpose is to simply and accurately report travel and expenses, which it is great at. The tools including the mobile app are all very easy to use and employee friendly from a basic user all the way to a management approval/administrator role.
The UI is simple and easy to use in my opinion, but it is fairly bland and dull. Concur Travel and Expense is well suited to for a mid to large size organization to track expenses, especially those who are already utilizing SAP. For smaller companies with more custom and 3rd party systems, it can still be utilized, but there may be other T&E options that are a better fit.
