Overall Satisfaction with Conductor Searchlight

We use Conductor to understand content gaps as well as understanding where we sit with keywords in organic search. While predominately leveraged by the customer acquisition team its being used across content and social teams as well. Beyond looking at the gaps, we're looking at where we are today to figure out what we need to do to update our pages and make them not only more SEO friendly, but consumer friendly as well.
  • We're able to see our gaps in content creation for our specifically targeted user profiles.
  • The program is very helpful in understanding where our keywords are in organic search and what we need to focus on.
  • After going through a site relaunch earlier this year, Conductor has been able to help us monitor the potential losses we had and where we needed to step up our game!
  • Any program can always be made more efficient. We find it a bit cumbersome to search for specific keywords that we know are in the system.
  • I'd personally also like to see a more high level report. Right now, getting so far into the weeds, its very easy to get lost. Trying to use the data to explain what is happening to C-Suite Executives, makes it a bit difficult.
  • Using the keyword allocation to see how things are looking in mobile/desktop individually creates challenges when you're trying to track a lot of things, but it makes sense given the platform.
  • We're still figuring this part out! SEO isnt something that proves a return very quickly. Its a long term process that we're managing and getting better at with the help of Conductor.
  • We're looking at traffic gains as well. We've been seeing some little successes here but each little one builds on top of the others and creates the program.
We've never had an issue with the data that is supplied from them. If anything, its too much data and you get lost in the weeds so easily!
But the data is the most important part of the platform. Without this, and knowing that the data is accurate, we wouldnt be able to measure and report. Without that, our C Suite wouldnt buy in and therefore the program probably wouldnt be as good as it can be/is with Conductors help.
Its helped to create the content strategy. We didnt have one before, let alone collaboration between the teams. This project with the Managed Services team at Conductor as pushed everyone to work together for the greater goal. The collaboration has been working and we've seen some successes.
Regardless of the teams we've worked with: Onboarding, Customer Success, Managed and Professional services over the tenure of our account, we've had nothing but the most fantastic experience. Each team we've worked with have been knowledgeable, professional and most of all engaged with our business, our goals, needs and overall account. We're a small and very lean team (as are most) and they've been true partners by becoming as invested in our business as we are. When we succeed, they succeed; when we celebrate, they celebrate with us.
We didn't review many. It was really about ease of use and fit within our company resources. We don' have engineers using this system. Day to say, it is marketers who are using this and need to come up with actionable insights to get things done.
Some of the most important questions we asked were: How easy is the system to use? Do you need to be an engineer to use it or is it simple enough for a marketer to use this on a daily basis? What's the opportunity here? What can this do for the bottom line? How can we quickly see what needs to be addressed? Can we easily define the tasks that need to be done immediately vs. those that are a bit longer term? Are we able to see where we stack up against our competitors? Can we learn from their successes and apply that to our program?

Using Conductor Searchlight

Workspaces do a few things for us. They allow us to share internally among the team as well as a modified version for C-suite (so they dont get too overwhelmed by the volume of data and only focus on the important pieces of information). They also allow us to quickly see whats working/needs to be addressed. Insight stream allows a quick look at the movement each week and lets us see if changes are having an impact quickly.
