Overall Satisfaction with Conductor Searchlight

Conductor is our main tool for keyword tracking and measuring visibility. The tool is great for identifying keyword gaps on our client sites, completing comprehensive research and working towards an effective editorial calendar or content plan that helps us drive performance and close the gaps we identified. Additionally, we are further aided by Conductor's competitive Intelliscope tool which shows us what ground we need to cover where competitors already have a firm grasp.

Cons

  • The interface is a little clunky
  • Setting automatic reports to deliver to clients on a scheduled basis is valuable not only to the clients who like to be kept in the loop about their rankings on a biweekly basis but enables our team to focus on production and performance while Conductor gives us a hand with reporting.
We have monthly calls with our representative who effectively walks us through new features and system updates as well as consistently brings new problem-solving techniques we can utilize the various functions of the tool. Additionally, our Rep is always willing to get their hands dirty within the tool and help us better manage our sites in the tool.
Conductor is well suited for tracking keywords and keyword categories your site does not currently rank for. By keeping your eye on keywords you've identified as "rank worthy" even if your site is in position 100+, is incredibly valuable and allows you and your team to plan long-term for pushing those keywords closer to your desired position.

Using Conductor Searchlight

InsightStream and Workspaces make it easy for us to pull quick learnings and pertinent reporting insights from the tool without getting too lost in the weeds of all the data made available by the Conductor tool.
