Overall Satisfaction with D-Link Ethernet Switches
I use D-Link Ethernet Switches for support and access in places where my main switch stacks are not covered. The equipment I use belongs to the business line, is manageable, PoE and has a high workload capacity. They are efficient equipment that meet both emergency and daily demands. Adaptable to various environments.
- Access control via VLANs
- Relatively easy configurations
- Application of functional QoS
- Poor Graphical Interface
- Switching between PoE and direct power does not work well, causing several reboots on the device
- Slightly poor equipment housing quality
- Its installation is incredibly simple, even a layman on the subject is able to operate it.
- Equipment compatible with several other makes and models.
- Possibility to work with IPv6 is a feature that is extremely important for us, and the equipment has it.
- Reduction of oscillations in the network caused by repeater equipment (which was replaced by D-links).
- Low cost of implementation and acquisition, making it possible to acquire a sufficient quantity to meet the entire park and demand.
- Due to its low price, we have no losses with maintenance, and can simply purchase other equipment for replacement.
- Extreme Ethernet Switches, Dell PowerConnect Switches, Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch and Cisco 5000 Series Enterprise Network Compute System (ENCS 5000)
For the use we have proposed for DE-Links (use in locations with difficult access, or for expanding the network inside rooms), its main advantage is its low price. It has a large part of the competitors' functionalities, of course, in a simpler way, but serving efficiently and at a lower price.
