Overall Satisfaction with Dashlane Password Manager

We have a 2 employee financial business. We use Dashlane Password Manager to safeguard our work and personal passwords. I like that you can offer employees a place to keep their personal passwords separate from their work passwords and that you can share passwords among staff when appropriate.

Pros

  • Generates long, complex passwords
  • Provides a safe place to store variety of data like social security numbers, PIN numbers and security Q&As, not just passwords
  • Like the biometric sign in option
  • Like the autofill option (when it works)

Cons

  • Not sure why, but it doesn't autofill on some sites even though it is set to do so. It will work on those sites if I open them from Dashlane Password Manager instead of type in the URL directly
  • I don't like that shared passwords have to be accepted by the person you are sharing them with. If they miss the email notification, they won't have the shared password available
  • Seems to work well on our Macs and Iphones, but not as smooth on the Ipad
  • We are in a highly regulated business and having Dashlane Password Manager helps us pass our security audits by the regulators
  • Less worry about someone stealing our client data
  • Easy enough for us to implement even without IT help. We migrated from 1Password and find this easier to use
We previously used Google Chrome for personal passwords and 1Password for business passwords. We find Dashlane Password Manager to be superior for sharing and autofill to those other options
Yes - 1Password did not have our regulator's seal of approval for security. Dashlane Password Manager did meet their requirements, so we had to change. I do find Dashlane Password Manager easier to administer and use on a day-to-day basis. I like the shortcut that appears in the browser tool bars, so it's quick to open if it doesn't autofill.
We were told by regulator IT experts that Dashlane Password Manager was more secure than 1Password. I also find it easier to set up and easier to use across laptops and mobile devices. It's been a few years since we made the switch, so it's hard to remember specifics.

It would be nice if there was a lower price point for 1 or 2 people; I believe the minimum purchase comes with 5 seats. It would be great if there were a consumer version for older people so I could help my 88 year old, computer literate Mom remember her passwords and easily fill them in without typing long involved passwords.
