Overall Satisfaction with Demandbase One

We use it for both creating dynamic account lists to target and then as a DSP to deliver ads to relevant users at those accounts.

The platform allows us to automate the execution of ads to the accounts based on the behavioral signals determined for us. We do layer on filtering for the types of accounts we want to target.

Pros

  • Dynamically selects accounts worth targeting
  • Sends dynamic account lists to DSP for ad targeting
  • Pushes account lists to platforms such as LinkedIn

Cons

  • The ability to target absolutely within a account is not there. You can only bid boost.
  • Can't target by job title.
  • Creative reporting was a little cumbersome.
  • No real value to revenue that we could measure
  • Value is getting visits to site from companies our sales team cares about
  • Identifies companies maybe our sales team isn't aware of but should be
The UI took a little getting used to but then was fairly easy to use and jump between audiences and the DSP. The DSP could be a little rigid with campaign launches as once the campaign was launched certain details could not change. Overall, the visual look and navigation was solid as you would expect from a player like this.
I am not too sure why we chose Demandbase One over RollWorks. I believe it was the holistic offering that our team liked and how it worked well with our systems such as Salesforce/Pardot. In the end, I am happy with the selection and taking the learnings we have from the platform.

Demandbase One is well suited for brands looking to have dynamic account lists to target based on the behavior of the users at those accounts. Those with intent and showing interest are likely the best to target. The connection between audience and activation in advertising is easy with the platform. You can quickly deliver ads to users across the web via the DSP. You can also push the account lists to LinkedIn for activation in social. Demandbase One will come at a higher cost but the precision of only reaching users at those accounts is key.
