Overall Satisfaction with DISCO Ediscovery

We engaged DISCO Ediscovery in a complex tort case where we represent 239 Plaintiffs in 5 related actions and numerous corporate defendants and insurance companies in order to more efficiently manage and locate documents vs. manually looking for them on our servers or within a document depository. It has also been useful for our 10 Experts who have direct access to their Review Stage, and I expect it will make preparing deposition exhibits much faster. I am able to use DISCO Ediscovery document reports to create document production indicia and will do the same for our trial exhibit lists. With a one-hour training, our Experts have become proficient in their document reviews, and one expert [who we use very frequently] specifically "hopes" that we continue to use DISCO Ediscovery firm-wide because he is very pleased with its ease of use. I hope my firm will employ DISCO Ediscovery firm-wide in our future cases as well because they are all voluminous.
  • Search and locate
  • Document organization
  • Ease of use
  • Review Stages are used by our Experts with direct access, which eliminates the need to create folders on our servers, download to flash drives, or having to upload documents and create links in the cloud
  • I wish there were a more efficient way to identify and tag duplicates. Other than that, DISCO Ediscovery is fantastic!
  • Money saver by keeping it in house
  • Money saver by reducing litigation prep time
  • Speed and efficiency in locating specific documents
  • Speed and efficiency in creating document and exhibit lists
  • I wish DISCO Ediscovery Desk people knew more about DISCO Ediscovery functionality and how to "workaround" that functionality, in order to meet specific client needs, even if it means simultaneous usage of the typical Windows programs such as Excel and Word, which I have been able to do [with a little trial and error].
My top 3 faves would be:
  • That the platform is extremely fast
  • That it cut down search and locate time from days to minutes
  • That Experts can access documents directly in a Review Stage
You would have to ask our accounting department this question as I am not privy to the "total cost of DISCO Ediscovery."
The help desk is okay, but I’ve received my most valuable learning experience from our client service representatives, trainers, and DISCO Ediscovery consultants. They ROCK!
Garik called. I knew the complexity of my one particular case, and they were looking at another platform of which I cannot remember the name of. We did a demo with the other company, then did a demo with Garik and found DISCO Ediscovery to be much more user-friendly than the other. In collaborating with my group and explaining what I found to be valuable, my team decided to use DISCO Ediscovery. I then told all the other paralegals within my firm about DISCO Ediscovery, and at least one requested to use the platform on her largest file as well. I’ve taken the lead here as far as training on what I’ve learned and/or “worked around,” and I share that information with everyone else.
This is what I told the sales rep for Relativity and Lumix: "DISCO Ediscovery is much more user-friendly, faster, accurate, and… well, just everything else pales in comparison, is STILL an understatement – it was a collective decision and unanimous. We will stay with DISCO Ediscovery, at least here in Las Vegas."

Did implementation of DISCO Ediscovery go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy DISCO Ediscovery again?

Yes

DISCO Ediscovery is the most powerful tool I've come across in my 37 years as a complex tort trial paralegal. I don't see any scenario where it would be less appropriate. I think even in non-legal areas, DISCO Ediscovery could be effectively employed to manage any dataset – for instance, I bet it could be super useful for managing medical records, and review stages could be created per patient.
