Overall Satisfaction with DonorPerfect

We use DonorPerfect as our database for donations and donor information.


  • Can create your own user fields.
  • Data Entry.


  • Pledge Billing - I have to do it manually because what comes out of their system is incorrect.
  • Tributes - reporting and set up is not acceptable.
  • Pledge Receivables - no retroactive reporting. Report is unacceptable.
  • Email addresses - allows multiple addresses but doesn't allow for reporting via Sync function in Constant Contact.
  • Pledge Billing - doesn't allow for Word Mail Merge letters.
We used another system before and I would say that although DonorPerfect has some expanded capabilities, their lack of a great base system isn't acceptable.
DonorPerfect has a long list of bugs that should be fixed, instead they spend time adding to their system. They need to get their base system correct. They also add functions and do 50% of the programming that actually needs done.

Our priorities have always been driven by the needs expressed by our customers. We have invested substantially in improving our quality assurance and development testing - in fact, we spend more than $250,000 every month on just R&D. As a result, every year we have seen fewer and fewer defects being released through our improved testing efforts. Should a critical issue arise, our team resolves them immediately – 24/7. We think one bug in our software is one too many, so we're committed to continually improving reliability every day. Most of our development is focused on client feedback to make sure we’re addressing your needs. In fact, we have completed more than one client-suggested idea every single month since July 2011, not including the 100+ ideas from clients in beta testing this year alone. To address some of your specific feedback: Sometimes there is a feature that works, but admittedly could work better. The decision then becomes a difficult one to make: should we make small incremental changes or invest even more for a complete overhaul that could take advantage of new technology? A good example is our implementation of tracking Tributes. We heard from clients like you that our current method was not adequate, so we’ve redesigned it from top to bottom to be faster, easier to manage, and more robust...eliminating the issues and frustrations of the old feature. We've done extensive research and testing for months with our clients, and will be releasing it early in 2016. You are correct that currently there is no historical Pledge Balance Due report yet, but with our new reporting to be released shortly, this will be possible. This specific report suggestion is in our Suggest and Vote, so please vote on it to help it rise to the top. As for pledge billing data, it can be merged with Microsoft Word, and we have a stored template you can use, which you can modify to meet your needs. You can also report on the Constant Contact sync results, as all of that historical data is stored in DonorPerfect. Please contact support for either issue if you need assistance.
