Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

We use Dropbox at least once a week. I like to use it for training certificates and information so that the supervisors in the field are able to access the files when needed. I also like to upload the training certificate documents to Dropbox and create a link in an excel spreadsheet. Again, the field supervisors can then see when trainings expire or also have a copy when needed. I also keep track of fuel statements in excel and share this spreadsheet. I use Dropbox again for uploading documents and creating a link in excel to the statements. Then I can email the spreadsheet to other offices and not have to worry about emails having too large of attachments.

Pros

  • Creating links
  • Quickly uploading documents
  • Ability to create folders for organizing documents

Cons

  • In my experience, it freezes when opening Dropbox fort the first time that day
  • In my experience, when copying a created link to a document, sometimes if you don't wait long enough, the link will not be created, and the link in my clipboard is actually the previous link I copied rather than the new one I've found.
  • In my experience, when adding a document, you have to scroll to the bottom of the page and add the new document by dragging to the open white space at the bottom. I would like if we could just drag over and let go anywhere on the page rather than having to find the white open space at the bottom.
  • The best part about Dropbox is being able to send an email with links within to documents stored online. We no longer have the issue of failed sent emails due to large files.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

Yes

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

Honestly, the worst part about Dropbox for me is that it freezes on me. In my experience, it will open when I click on the app icon and go through the first couple folders I click into, but then it becomes frozen and unresponsive. In my experience, I have to close Dropbox, sometimes force close it through task manager, or go to the app settings and "repair" the app. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. It works for the day, but if I open Dropbox the next day, I have to do the same steps all over again in my experience.
