Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Dynatrace is being deployed on on-premises applications and is used for application performance and health monitoring. It is used to solve our objectives by helping monitoring applications' health and performance so we can focus on delivering greater business value. We also use Dynatrace to generate alerts and distribute reports to various users.

As per my knowledge of using Dynatrace, it is well suited for any type of application with multi-tier distributed applications. Dynatrace is also well suited for public clouds such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. Dynatrace works well with AWS cloudWatch, Azure monitoring API, so there is no need for OneAgent install on individual instances, especially since most of the hosts in these cloud environments are not static. Dynatrace also works well with Kubernetes so it can help with private cloud deployment such as OpenShift, etc.
