Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Dynatrace to monitor our applications and servers. We as an IT team use Dynatrace to monitor our front end and API services. We monitor our Kubernetes environment using Dynatrace and we are trying to have ActiveGate in place to better have our k8s cluster monitoring. And we are working on a few technical problems with Dynatrace.

I am not the person who selected Dynatrace, but I have worked with another tool before, and I feel like the application performance monitoring is good. Also the k8s cluster monitoring and visualization can work well compared to the other tool.

Support Rating

Dynatrace has given good support in letting us know about new features that are rolling out as a part of their regular releases, but the only thing is we would like to know when a OneAgent update will happen. We faced an issue in terms of OneAgent updates. We had to force recycle pods for an updated OneAgent injection.

Dynatrace can be well suited to monitor front end and backend api services. Application performance monitoring can be better enhanced. Containers can be well monitored using Dynatrace. Dynatrace ActiveGate can help monitoring Kubernetes clusters with a better visualization. Honestly Dynatrace can have some improvements in terms of troubleshooting customer's technical issues.
