Overall Satisfaction with Dynatrace

We use Dynatrace to monitor our applications and infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud. Dynatrace helps us to make sure all systems are stable and operating properly.

Pros

  • User interface
  • CPU and memory monitoring

Cons

  • Some advanced features are not well documented
  • Google cloud support
  • Monitoring of hardware is positive
Dynatrace has many competitors, including ones I have used at previous companies. These include, but are not limited to, New Relic and Datadog. Google Cloud has some products that are not as well developed as Dynatrace, and the other competition isn't nearly as beneficial from an ROI perspective. Dynatrace offers everything we need for the right price point.
Dynatrace has really great support, both online and in person.

Dynatrace is well suited for monitoring legacy monolithic apps as well as microservices-based architectures. Dynatrace works really well out-of-the-box, but it needs a lot of customization to work properly for some more advanced setups. Training is available, but not clear at times for people who are looking for more advanced topics.
