Overall Satisfaction with Dynatrace

We use Dynatrace across the organization. It handles all of our APM needs.
  • Ease of problem determination so the right people are involved in resolving the problem.
  • Ease of monitoring and baselining allowing us to know issues or potential issues before they happen.
  • Provide a full stack of executing code to help the application developer debug.
  • Allow for the developer to view how the software is executing for ANY timeframe (timeframes disappear on the pure path review screens for problem determination).
  • It has allowed us to determine root cause for a critical application and prevent downtimes with predictive metrics. This has allowed us to have no downtimes for this third-party application.
I have used AppMon and it was better for the developer, but the adoption at our business was poor.
We have weekly training and any individual needs are always answered promptly by our Dynatrace support team.

Dynatrace is well suited for allowing a big picture view to determine root-cause analysis. It is not so good if a developer would like to analyze their code for improvements or slowdowns that happen at various places in the stack, which may be unrelated to an issue.
