Overall Satisfaction with Emptoris
In my previous organization, Emptoris was used as a contract module for supply chain/ procurement tying into SAP. The tool was more or less an advanced repository.
- The product was user friendly.
- Integrated well with legacy and existing systems.
- Support and training offered by IBM was top notch.
- Certain components could not update properly with integration at first.
- Cost was greater than some competitors.
- Integration took longer than anticipated.
- Control measures to see where agreements were getting bogged down in internal approval process.
- Lead time features were utilized well to understand timeliness.
- Business unit support increased.
- Agreement visibility improved.
- Communication between business units improved.
I would say there are positives and negatives to all. Emptoris seemed to be more advanced in progression of their tool. Others seem to have created a tool to meet a customers need and was not part of their core business model or competency.
