Overall Satisfaction with F5 BIG-IP

We use F5 BIG-IP for load balancing our applications. It addresses app availability and the prevention of resource overload. We have F5 BIG-IP in various containers throughout our environment for internal, customer facing, and shared services.

Pros

  • Ease of application availability
  • Clear view of pool members and their status

Cons

  • A way to search for which pool members are associated to which VIP, if the VIP is unknown.
  • We have had a positive impact. I think the inclusion of the Application Study tool would have more of an impact.
There is a slightly high learning curve, but once you are familiar, it is very user friendly.

It is a well organized load balancing solution for our applications and that is what we use it for.
