F5 Big-IP Review
Overall Satisfaction with F5 BIG-IP
Scope of our use case is managing traffic, so load balancing between a couple of different locations allows us to do disaster recovery testing and keep everything available.
Pros
- It's reliable. We've had very little problems with the technology. Performance is always right on. Metrics are great. They come out of it. We'd like to do more probably with it in the future as we start to grow a lot more.
Cons
- I think a couple of challenges. One, I mean the cost, it's not an inexpensive product, but I think it's probably parity with value, maybe a little on the pricey side of things.
- As far as features and what we'd like to see more cloud native type experiences like where NGINX and F5 kind of come together, we're moving more of the cloud just like everybody else, and it's a little clunky right now.
- Neutral. It's a small piece of our business. It's not substantial enough to move the needle way.
It stacks up great. I mean it does in most cases a better job. I mean there's no competition in that regard.
