Figma: A near perfect tool for collaboration
Overall Satisfaction with Figma
I have used Figma for past 4 years with 3 organisations, we used it for collaboration design work to create High fidelity UI UX designs for the product. I previously used to use Adobe XD but collaboration tool wise Figma is far better. The scope of our use case includes Wireframing & Prototyping, Maintaining Design System, Collecting reviews from Stake holders and Design Handoffs to developers. Overall Figma supports our needs in agile design process allowing quick iterations seamless collaborations.
Pros
- Real time Collaborations
- Rapid Prototyping
- Design System and Component Libraries
- Plugins and Integrations
Cons
- Offline mode integrations
- Advance Prototyping
- Animation features
- When File is large team experience lag or file becomes slow
- Enhanced Collaboration and efficiency led us to shorter project timelines
- Improved design consistency due to design system led us improved user experience and high retentions
- Dependency on internet issues sometimes results in possible downtime affecting productivity
Figma compared to other tools has user friendly UI which is very easy for all levels of designers. Compared to Adobe XD and Sketch Figma is stable, while in other tools I have faced software crashing in the middle of the work which resulted in loss of data/design. Compared to other tools it's fast and shows less lag. Collaboration in Figma is very easy as it is cloud based but in XD it's not that smooth working with other designers.
