Overall Satisfaction with FireMon

Support seems to do a good job with describing how to remediate a problem. More than often, a phone call would be nice to get in touch and remediate a problem, rather than email.
FireMon is only being used for firewall configuration monitoring purposes. In other words, any changes on the firewall we would check on FireMon.

Pros

  • FireMon does a great job at monitoring any changes on the firewall rules
  • Monitor any user accounts that perform the changes on the firewall
  • Easy to set up

Cons

  • Collecting logs of logs usage on the firewall from a SIEM device would be useful
  • A report to generate all firewall rule changes within the last year
  • So far it's an equal estimate based on the usage of FireMon.
FireMon is decent in response to troubleshooting. They did an excellent job with assisting with any upgrade of the device from certain versions.

    Thank you for your insightful review of FireMon Security Manager. We are delighted to update you on Support calling, log usage report, and SIEM reporting. In regards to support, when you open the ticket you can request a phone call for resolution; if you have done this and not received a phone call – we apologize and will improve our due diligence. Regarding the log usage report, within the Change Report feature, you can select the date range including 1/1 to 12/31 time frame. And for the SIEM log reporting, it is capable of collecting usage from logs forwarded from a SIEM and other capabilities. You can find more detail about SIEM reporting in our User Center / Downloads / Getting Started User Guide 8.12.
