Overall Satisfaction with GIMP

I work with a ton of photos of adorable dogs and cats from our community. Some of these photos are good, some aren't. Some need lots of manipulation and some just need resizing. I don't need a complicated program, but GIMP has more advanced features if I need them. Basically I use it for photo editing purposes to create quality images we use in print and electronic form..
  • Photo editing
  • Photo retouching
  • Image resizing
  • Image opening and re-saving as other file type
  • It can stand to be a bit more user friendly. GIMP feels like a more advanced software.
  • Better online help documentation is needed.
  • The interface is pretty small, with tiny type. I'd love to see it bigger.
  • I don't need to pay sky-high Photoshop subscription costs, it saves me a ton of money there.
  • I like the rapid photo editing features it allows.
  • GIMP is pretty easy to learn IF you already have a little knowledge of photo editing software
Online services like Canva are fine for quickly designing brochures and marketing materials, videos, etc. They're user friendly and fast if you have a good connection. But if you're in production mode and need to do a lot of photo manipulation at once, without being connected to the web at all times and just want to focus, GIMP is the go-to product for you.

Do you think GIMP delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with GIMP's feature set?

Yes

Did GIMP live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of GIMP go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy GIMP again?

Yes

I think it's great if you work with lots of images at one time as I do. Open them all up within GIMP, and start editing.

It's especially nice if you don't have the budget for Adobe products, and just need a quality photo editing software for occasional use. It's almost identical to Photoshop, but less user-friendly.

If you only need to make minor photo changes or want to do cutesy collages and things, online editors are better for your needs.
