Overall Satisfaction with Gong.io

While I don't use Gong.io personally, I am the admin for the software at my company and I provide support to the users. Recording calls with Gong.io has given us a lot of benefits, most notably the ability for the CRO and Head of Sales to listen to the Account Executives' calls. This gives them an opportunity to coach the sellers on very specific things with concrete evidence, as opposed to simply reading email conversations. The transparency Gong.io provides makes our sellers more accountable, which results in improved pitches/performance.

  • We believe Gong improves the performance of our AEs because they know that their meeting can be replayed by their manager and peers.
  • We also believe it improves our sellers because they themselves can go back to the recording and see how well (or poorly) they did. To have recorded evidence of the language they used or the energy level and tone they had is really great for their development.
Occasionally I look at the metrics provided by Gong (the # of calls, duration of calls, etc.) on an individual and aggregate level.
Gong.io is good for recording calls so that others can replay them later. It also does a good job of segmenting the recording so that the listener can skim through, knowing which parts are important. For example, if the Head of Sales is only curious about where the price is going to land, he can skip ahead to the exact moment when pricing is being discussed.
