Overall Satisfaction with GoodData

GoodData helps us save time and manpower in creating easy to use and navigate reports and get them to the right audience member within our company. GoodData enables us to splice up data in the ways we need to, from specific time entries to grouping projects by custom fields. By using gooddata to create tables and graph views, we can create easy to use and navigate dashboards.
  • Easy to customize and create metrics using MAQL
  • Easy to filter reports
  • Limited flexibility and options while creating reports.
  • Tough to customize views and designs.
  • The ability to view utilization and help us more accurately forecast.
  • Helps stand up our client health initiatives.
GoodData is fairly easy to use but there are some limitations on customizations on reports. On simple/basic reports, GoodData is perfect for generating tables and reports and can splice up the data you want to see. On more complex reports, it becomes a bit more difficult and is a bit hard to navigate if you have too many attributes.
It took me a few months to get my feet underneath me when dealing with GoodData. It does not take long to get up and running with basic reports but does take a bit longer to get familiarized with custom reports and metrics.
I was hired to create specific reports and dashboards to provide analytics and intelligence to our company. I think the easy-to-use nature of creating reports was instrumental in creating them.

I would recommend GoodData to people with limited experience in BI. This is a great introduction to this field and the learning curve might not be as steep as other tools.
