Overall Satisfaction with GoodSync
GoodSync is being used to perform synchronization and backup of individual computer drives and it is being used for single computers and server drives. GoodSync is especially useful when synchronizing drives to capture all the changes made from one drive to another. GoodSync can easily identify the files that have been deleted or moved and ensure a consistent file structure.
- synchronization and backup
- easily identifies files that have been moved
- identifies deleted files and prompts user if there are conflicts
- GUI can be improved
- performance - mainly speed but this can be a function of the drive
- a feature to identify new drives
- backup
- synchronization
- flexibility
- positive impact is the reliability of backup
- positive impact knowing that the backup is complete with no missing files
- positive impact is can be used by all, so does not require IT to be involved
For reliability, GoodSync is beyond comparison. Some of the other tools I tried either fail through the backup/synchronization process, leaving one with unknown status of what has been backed up and what has not, wasting an inordinate amount of time because one has to repeat the whole process. Goodsync, even if it stops because of power glitches can easily pick up where it left after performing the analysis
