Overall Satisfaction with Google Sheets

We use Google Sheets to keep track of just about everything: schedules, payments, student data, etc. We also use it to setup scoring templates for the various tests that students complete. It lets us share the information with the appropriate people and we can all collaborate on the document to make sure everything is accurate.

Pros

  • Collaboration and Sharing
  • Formatting
  • Security

Cons

  • Data Analysis
  • Offline Access
  • Industry Standardization
  • Standalone App
  • Streamlines Process
  • Quick Collaboration
  • Secure Sharing
In my opinion, it does everything that anyone would want it to do except for users that need to do heavy data analysis. For about 99% of use cases, Google Sheets will do the job better than other spreadsheet applications. The ability to collaborate and share the documents is intuitive and not available easily on other platforms. It could benefit from having a standalone offline application and being able to handle larger data sets.
Google Sheets is the best online application for spreadsheets. I think it's far above the rest in terms of features and sharing capabilities. The other programs all have standalone applications that can take advantage of an individual user's computer to process large swaths of data. Google Sheets is limited to being able to do things in-browser. For daily use cases, Google Sheets is the way to go.

Do you think Google Sheets delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Google Sheets's feature set?

Yes

Did Google Sheets live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Google Sheets go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Google Sheets again?

Yes

If you are starting out in an ecosystem to keep track of your data, it makes sense to use Google Sheets from the beginning. It's not as good at playing with non Google Sheets data. The formatting and import gets all wonky. It's great for keeping track of data and sharing it with people securely. It's not as appropriate if you want to do heavy data analysis.
