Overall Satisfaction with Gusto

My organization used it for payroll. It was a small financial services firm and it was the perfect tool to make sure that everyone got paid and that other aspects of the business like stock, equity such as carried interest, and time off were managed in an easy to understand manner.
  • payroll
  • benefits
  • human resoruces
  • insurance
  • local and federal tax forms
  • net-to-gross calcualtions
  • i wish they had early direct deposit
  • time tracking can be confusing for freelancers
  • It has cut payroll time significantly
  • It has become a source of truth for payroll and benefits
  • it is very easy for the employee to use to better understand their compensation
I think gusto is better than Rippling. Rippling can be very difficult to use and there needs to be a lot of controls in place to make it work. Gusto is much easier for the employee to use and since it is a more established company there is not all the uncertainty of working with a startup in this economic climate.

Do you think Gusto delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Gusto's feature set?

No

Did Gusto live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Gusto go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Gusto again?

Yes

It is very good for full time employees and those who are on a more normal pay cadence. Some of their time accounting features are a bit more difficult to use for freelancers or those who aren't salaried employees, but that was not something that I frequently encountered while using this product.
