Overall Satisfaction with Gusto

We use Gusto for payroll, manage vacation time, and approve hourly employee hours. We previously were manually tracking hourly employees hours via spreadsheets and this simplifies the process for both the employee and manager to approve time sheets. We also recently started using it for tracking the entire teams' vacation time, as we were previously logging it on Outlook Calendars.

Pros

  • Payroll
  • PTO Tracking

Cons

  • Performance reviews.
  • Peer feedback
  • Positive ROI in terms of getting time back from spending it on antiquated spreadsheets for time logging.
It is user friendly in some ways (hours approval, PTO submission) but not in others (peer feedback, editing goals, etc.)
Fellow is better at HR functionalities than Gusto. We have been using them for peer feedback and performance reviews but would prefer to use one platform like Gusto.

Do you think Gusto delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Gusto's feature set?

Yes

Did Gusto live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Gusto go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Gusto again?

Yes

Gusto is good for small businesses/teams to help manage payroll, PTO, hourly employees time. It is not the best tool for managing evaluations and performance feedback. It would be nice for Gusto to improve their performance capabilities such as adding features like notes from weekly 1:1s (that would build back into the goal setting portion existing in Gusto), options to provide team feedback (the current feedback requestor is not great).
