Overall Satisfaction with Hippo CMMS

Hippo CMMS is used in both our Cabinet Manufacturing plants to streamline all maintenance work orders. Also helps with keeping track of machine preventative maintenance needs. We use Hippo to setup up alerts with details for every machine in our plant. With Hippo CMMS we can track how much each machine costs us per year. This helps us set a budget. Great program, has lots of other neat things it can do.
  • Tracks machine maintenance costs.
  • Keeps preventative maintenance work orders on track.
  • Keeps history of all past work orders for review in case a problem you've already dealt with comes up again.
  • On the work order history print out, I would like to see more detail. Like the date range for instance.
  • Helps us set a maintenance budget.
  • Keeps maintenance employees on track with user needs.
Hippo CMMS was more user friendly for my maintenance men then the other software programs we tested. The difference was really how easy Hippo is to use navigate. Also the price point was a little better then the competitors. The calendar view really helped sell us on the product. I liked being able to move projects/jobs around in the calendar just by dragging and dropping them in other days.
I've used Hippo for several years now. I'm sure other programs have been developed since I did my comparison testing. But Hippo has always done everything we needed it to do. It's very reliable. My guys don't doubt whether or not it's doing its job. The calendar view, ease of use and floor mapping set this program apart from others.

Hippo also has parts management. I have set up all my maintenance parts in the Hippo system. When I allocate a part to a piece of equipment, the system will allocate the cost associated with that to the equipment. Also I have set up thresholds to warn me when my parts quantity is getting low. This helps us keep our inventory up to date.
