I love this product - especially if hiring for multiple locations!

Overall Satisfaction with HireVue

My company used this to pre-screen people that we would like to have a face-to-face interview with. It is a great way to help narrow down the talent pool and hear what the person has to say about themselves and why they are interested in working with my company. For example, I had one day to interview job candidates in another city that I had already prescreened over the phone. I used HireVue to help narrow down how many face-to-face interviews we scheduled. This directly benefited both me and the senior manager that was the final decision-maker for the face-to-face interviews.

Finally, it makes it personal when you can finally put a name with a face and welcome them to the face-to-face interview.

Pros

  • You can rate the candidates/videos right away and add comments.
  • You get notifications as soon as a candidate has completed an online interview.
  • You can have managers quickly review someone's video to gain buy in to the hiring process.

Cons

  • Sometimes, candidates get really nervous when they answer a question. It would be nice if they could do a "do-over" for 2 times in the video. I know it is best to get their first reaction, candid in the moment, but I even need the chance to re-record.
  • The live online interviews with the call-in line didn't work well. It is much easier to just do it over skype.
  • It would be nice if my company would have integrated with the applicant tracking system so the person could just do it as they apply by answering 4 short questions. [This would allow for] a more automated process, so I don't have to go and add them to the HireVue website myself.
  • Increased employee efficiency: we save time and money by narrowing the poolof candidates, flying in candidates for interviews with senior managers.

We understand that not all candidates like the idea of a webcam digital interview. We offer unlimited practice questions that we recommend candidates take advantage of in order to get more comfortable and have more confidence. There is an option to have candidates retake interview questions. On the Interview Setup screen, when adding questions, you can actually select how many retakes you will allow candidates to have per question. Most recruiters select 2-3 retakes. I'm sorry about the Live interviews not working well. Could you give me an example of what goes wrong? Does the phone line not connect? Does the interview stop? Our 24/7 support team is here and has tools available to determine what the cause is of a technical failure. We recommend plugging in with an Ethernet cable, as WiFi is not always the most reliable option. If you have troubles with the phone option, be sure to stay on the line and have the candidate call in at the same time you are on the line. "Waiting for host" means waiting for HireVue to connect. If the phone does not connect, that usually means one party or the other party has not called the phone number. Again, feel free to contact our support line if this happens or really if anything happens that does not seem right.
