The events department utilizes the platform to promote and execute external events hosted by our company. If any department needs to host a webinar, event, or something similar, they come to the events department to utilize Hopin.
Pros
- The data and reporting, both pre, live, and post-event, is incredibly detailed and customized.
- The event chat, stage chat, booth chat, and networking capabilities make virtual events extremely interactive for attendees!
- Streaming live events with StreamYard is very simple, with a great user interface for people in the backstage and producing area.
Cons
- The customizing capability of their landing pages and event is extensive but difficult to do without a background in design. Although designed to be user-friendly, it still takes a large investment of time and learning to do well.
- The registrant join flow for their embedded registration form is lengthy and clunky. Thankfully if you utilize one of their many automation integrations, this isn't a necessary function.
- Without Hopin, it would have been impossible to host an event at the scale and user interface that we did, with the staff limitations we have. Hopin enabled us to execute a very high standard with limited resources. For example, before Hopin, we could only attract about 100-200 attendees. With Hopin, we 3x our registrations and attendees.
- The data collected from their system on attendees allows us to more accurately speak to our target market based on their tracked habits during the event.

Hopin has the easiest user interface for both customers and internally, replicates the in-person environment for engagement as close as possible, and sets up very easily. It doesn't take a huge team or months to implement. You can get up and running quickly, and the platform worked just as expected.
