Overall Satisfaction with HostGator

We have used HostGator for entry level web clients who need affordable hosting options.

Pros

  • HostGator provides good hosting for website clients looking to save money while building a digital presence.
  • Customer service has been helpful.

Cons

  • Additional WP optimization options would make them a better competitor.
  • User interface lacks compared to platforms like GoDaddy and WPEngine.
  • HostGator is a very affordable option. It had a very positive effect on ROI.
HostGator is a good platform, but not quite as capable as WPEngine.
HostGator would not be a great fit for high volume, or high performance WordPress based sites. For this reason, we now use GoDaddy for entry level client work, and WPEngine for more advanced projects.
