Overall Satisfaction with HotSchedules

We use it mainly for primary scheduling and allowing staff to make shift changes, update their availability and view schedules electronically. It is also a great way to track and manage requests for time off. Right now we have not delved into the features also available for tracking dollars and labor.

  • Sometimes I feel the interface is a little clunky. It would be easier if I could make changes to employees with fewer steps.

We went straight to Hotschedules under the advisement of a former manager who had used several platforms and preferred this. It also seems that a lot of our employees were already familiar with the setup so it was easy to change from a paper schedule.
It is well suited once there are more than 20 employees and with multiple different departments or schedules. With most of our employees being younger having something digital appeals to them and is easy for then to understand. I do feel that sometimes our older employees that are less tech savvy fight it bit. Also with a smaller staff, it is a bit too much unless they are spread out and rarely talk or see a manager.
