IBM is used to manage maintenance tasks on mining equipment. It is used across multiple orgs and sites globally.
  • It can be customized to meet specific process needs.
  • It is very flexible to handle management of any kind of asset.
  • It is easy to manage new site set ups.
  • It is a comparatively expensive solution.
  • There are system problems/constraints moving assets back and forth between sites.
  • On equipment, profitability is directly impacted by equipment availability and reliability. Maximo enables us to manage preventive maintenance in a structured, measurable and scalable way.

It is very suitable managing mobile (equipment) assets. The challenge has been when work needs to be performed on an unknown asset that isn’t already set up in the system.
