IBM Turbonomic visibility for the enterprise
Overall Satisfaction with IBM Turbonomic
We use Turbonomic in our Power environment for AIOPS and balancing our SAP workloads. It provides recommendations for workload placement in order to optimise our compute, storage and network resources. It gives us real time monitoring and maps relationships amount applications and resources. We use it to automatically scale during peak times and maintain our performance requirements.
Pros
- Full stack visibility
- Performance assurance at scale
- Automation
Cons
- Lack of 3rd party Integrations
- High costs can be tough for organisations with small budgets
- The learning curve can be very steep
- Better ROI
- Time spent by Administrators manually adjusting resources
- Increased performance and workload optimisation
Full stack observability and application resource management
Previously troubleshooting issues were a nightmare because the application monitoring was separate from the hardware monitoring and there is no correlation between them.
Apart from Spectrum Control the others are fundamentally different to Turbonomic and so Spectrum control really has storage monitoring agents and will give you some server metrics but not the deep AIOPS that Turbonomic has and then the automation is not as mature and available for as many day to day operations.
