Overall Satisfaction with IDrive
I am a professor of Earth Science and work with large data volumes. I have a server maintained at my university, with RAID-configured duplicate disks, but also wanted an off-site backup of my lab group's data (~15 TB). Specifically, I need a system that would work with the Linux OS (CentOS 7). I have only one server/computer, so am able to use IDrive's Personal plan.
- Automatic
- Low cost
- Linux compatible
- Sufficient online support
- Would like a GUI for linux
- Would be nice if backups could be made more frequently than daily
- automatic backup
- web portal for monitoring
- linux compatibility
- I'm glad to have my data backed up offsite
- I appreciate a simple, annual bill
I started with CrashPlan for a couple of years, but they became more expensive and ultimately dropped support for Linux systems, at least at the level that I needed support (backup of a single, multi-TB computer).
