Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We backup multiple devices (laptop, phones, tablets) across several people. We wanted a solution that allowed us to ensure that there is a failsafe for all our devices in case of theft / corruption / accident etc. We also wanted a solution that offered an easy and accessible space for all users to retrieve their data.

Usability

Easy to use having not used before. Both the app and online web interface were pretty easy to use. I think the app could go a bit further in terms of ease of use and intuition, but this is a fairly minor point. Overall good usability - I particularly like the simplicity of use.

Alternatives Considered

Google Drive

Different use cases to be honest. I'm happy having both as I see and use them for different use cases. I also like having them on separate platforms instead of an all in one solution where I feel less secure knowing that if that solution were to fail that there would be no other backup.

This was the main reason I went with IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 (and also the competitive pricing). It's a well known brand and covered / reviewed by many tech influencers which convinced me of it's reliability and usefulness.

Where IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 is less appropriate:
As noted by others, the primary use case is as a backup, as opposed to a solution that makes it easy to synch files across devices for the purpose of collaborative working e.g., Google Drive, but I'm ok with this.
