Overall Satisfaction with iMovie
I use iMovie to create fast videos and edits music for my clients in social media and maybe for socials events, maybe family events. But it have a BIG problem, it doesn't have differents formats to create new size needed to the differentes platforms. For example, it only work in the resolutions 16:9. Maybe I need more settings to expand the potential and I will use more time and not depend on another software.

iMovie is free for Apple devices, and it have a plus with that. The other software are for pay and are a little bit more complicated to use. iMovie is fast, intuitive, and have and extended free library with free royalties to use in different platforms of social media or video websites.

Evaluating iMovie and Competitors
Yes - I replaced for After Effects, if I need a create a simple edition I will use iMovie. It's simple, have a many preset effects of motion and text and its interface is so friendly for all. I recommend this software for any macOS or iOS user.

Is really simple to use, and his tools are very complete for edit short videos in 16x9 HD format. It has an extensive library of effects and assets to complete your videos. You don't need other softwares or paid an expensive services if you a MacOS or iOS user. 100% recommended.
Sorry, but I don't understand this question. For me, Movie is indispensable in my computer and my phone. It help me all weeks with short project I make for different clients and partners. I had minimum used iMovie 10 years.
