Overall Satisfaction with Infor ERP

We use Infor ERP throughout the organization; from manufacturing to quality control, purchasing to accounting and reporting.
We need a robust business intelligence platform that we can structure in order to run several KPI's and dashboard reports by using the data we already have in place. Currently we use a third party program to put these figures together, however setup process was painful and see ongoing problems while we use it.

Pros

  • It is one of the simplest products on the market. Very user friendly and in my opinion not complicated and busy wit unnecessary tools.
  • We usually do a very short training for new hires and they pick it up promptly.
  • Data processing is fast and results are always on time.
  • Good amount of ready made reports for our needs.

Cons

  • You need an IT person in order to customize reports, overcome system locks, etc. But, usually having an IT guy in house is a good thing as well.
  • There isn't auto lock future that would sign put users if they don't use the program for extended time.
  • Missing auto warning messages when you're about to run a big amount of data.
  • A continuous improvement (Lean) section with employee suggestions (ideas) ability would be great.
  • Updates for latest technological improvements usually come late.
  • It definitely increased employee efficiency. We're working on how to improve scheduling.
  • We have better control on inventory and can see where our money is.
  • Infor ERP improved the way we track open customer orders (backlogs).
I used another Infor ERP version called Mapics in the past. It was also a great product; efficient and fast. It was a hybrid one, running under Windows and DOS platforms; and hey, sometimes you need to sacrifice a good looking and colorful screen to black and white DOS in order to get things done faster and effective.
It is a user friendly, simpler and robust platform.
We always go thru our own IT team first. However, when they don't have the answer Infor support is always ready to resolve any question you would be asking, and they always get back to you promptly.
When properly set up, existing financial reports work very well. Sometimes you need to customize these reports to meet your needs.
Inventory control is a breeze and makes you feel comfortable with Infor ERP. Again, when properly set up it is capable of giving the appropriate reports with several details without any hiccups.

2 - IT background with Infor experience is highly recommended
  • Finance and Accounting reports
  • Tracking sales by business units and product groups
  • Inventory control
  • Cost accounting
  • Addition of labortrak (shoptrak) module was on our long time wish list. After getting it implemented we're able to effectively track labor time.
  • If continuous improvement (lean) future could be added, we would be interested in to purchase that module.
  • Multi site function would be a possibility for us.
  • A smarter BI (business intelligence) is on my new wish list.
Because of its robust but simplest interface. Also, it is an inexpensive alternative.

When we implemented Infor to another plant we acquired, Infor provided right resources on time and finished the implementation without any problems. They took it very seriously and with the support and knowledge of our IT and accounting team we tackled the task with a great success.I highly recommend using Infor for your ERP software needs.

  • Running financial reports is easy
  • Running inventory reports is easy
  • Running employee labor reports is easy.
  • When run into a non responsive report run, you need an IT person to help you out.
  • When there are too many users logged in to system, it doesn't automatically log off the inactive users for a certain period of time.
