Overall Satisfaction with iSpring Suite

iSpring Suite is used to create e-books, simple and complex online training course, certification exams, and interactions. The published materials are used for classroom training and portions are loaded on LMS tools. The product also supports surveys. In certain cases, learners are required to following sequential learning paths, thereby requiring the user to view all materials prior to taking a knowledge review quiz, or final exam.

Pros

  • Quizzes are the most powerful tool within iSpring Suite
  • Ability to publish to many LMS products
  • Interactive feedback and branching based on the learners responses
  • Platform portability; able to publish / view on computers, tablets and smartphones

Cons

  • Text-to-Speech is still in Beta and needs additional features
  • Product only allows 1 audio track; would be helpful to allow one voice track and one music track
  • Preview mode doesn't always mimic the published mode
  • The change to monthly subscriptions is expensive, and for a team can be cost-prohibitive
  • Due to the features provided in the product, it has been valuable in terms of functionality
  • iSpring's 24/7 technical support is excellent since chat is always available; saving lots of time vs. having to use email.
The product is very robust, but the interface is not always intuitive. Interactive help icons would be helpful.
We've used Techsmith's "Camtasia" product, but only for video creation. It has a more powerful interface and feature-set, but none of the other tools that are in iSpring Suite.

The iSpring Suite is very well suited for quizzes at a large variety of quiz types are available. Additionally, the interaction capabilities are diverse. The product is also great at publishing in different formats (LMS, Desktop, YouTube, HTML, etc.). Maybe not the best tool to use for e-Books as there are other products on the market that are very inexpensive, or free.
