It is being used to manage some of our Mac users. It is being deployed to certain teams. It addresses the challenges of managing a Mac infrastructure.
- Allow nearly full automation from shrink wrapped Mac to managed device for seamless end user experience
- Allows different configurations and apps for different users
- Allows transparency and inventory collection to see how your overall management state is.
- Await config
- Remote jumpstart could use some love, having experienced a real jumpstart and the remote option there are many inconsistencies
- Open source more things
- I was tasked with creating a solution to manage Macs in a way that Windows machines are managed but to be 100% cloud-based.
- I was tasked with creating MFA on the login screen, Jamf delivered an option with Jamf connect / nomad.
- I was tasked with deploying configurations for apps and Jamf allowed me to make those changes.
Jamf is for Mac. SCCM mostly for PCs and requires on-prem infrastructure.
