Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is being used to manage some of our Mac users. It is being deployed to certain teams. It addresses the challenges of managing a Mac infrastructure.

Allow nearly full automation from shrink wrapped Mac to managed device for seamless end user experience
Allows different configurations and apps for different users
Allows transparency and inventory collection to see how your overall management state is.

Cons

Await config
Remote jumpstart could use some love, having experienced a real jumpstart and the remote option there are many inconsistencies
Open source more things

Return on Investment

I was tasked with creating a solution to manage Macs in a way that Windows machines are managed but to be 100% cloud-based.
I was tasked with creating MFA on the login screen, Jamf delivered an option with Jamf connect / nomad.
I was tasked with deploying configurations for apps and Jamf allowed me to make those changes.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager

Jamf is for Mac. SCCM mostly for PCs and requires on-prem infrastructure.

If you are serious about remote management and have 40 or more users, it is definitely the way to go. No other provider currently offers a full management suite in the way that Jamf does. From configuration management to software deployments, and support, they do a great job.
