Overall Satisfaction with Kemp LoadMaster
Kemp LM was used to provide resilience for our Exchange web front end. It was purchased to ensure maximum available up time for remote users of our ion premise Exchange applications.
It is used world wide with around 2000 users, coping with a relatively small concurrency of some 400 users max.

- Highly configurable. Complex set of options allow configuration to almost any configuration needed.
- Very scaleable. Will cope with very large enterprises
- Quite stable, but not perfect. High degree of availability, and improved over basic exchange installation
- Complexity. You really need. highly skilled IT team to manage this device. This is not a solution or appliance for SME's - medium or large enterprises only!
- Bugs, during 2015-2016 we suffered from a. number of bugs that caused downtime that would not have occurred without the Kemp LM. This is especially annoying given that it was purchased to reduce downtime! During 2017 stability improved.
- Costs. This is a high cost solution with high ongoing support fees. Not for those who are very cost conscious
- Stability from 2017 much improved over earlier years.
- 2015 & 2016 the system caused more downtime than it resolved. 2017 downtime was improved by the system
- Some issues, particularly with our simple (relatively) Exchange and network configuration ended up being very complex and difficult to resolve. Allow plenty of support time and insist on detailed failure analysis from he suppliers.
- When running stability performs well.
We did not evaluate other products, and decided against Microsoft's own resilience solutions. Based on other user reports and Gartner advice we chose Melp LM for our Exchange installation. With hindsight, we should have chosen a less expensive and simpler solution - I would probably state this the Kemp LM system is over kill for the 4000 user installation,
