Overall Satisfaction with Kemp LoadMaster

We use Kemp to improve the security and availability our web properties to external customers and partners, as well as a custom banquet application that is accessed over a cloud connection. The Kemp LoadMaster gives us load balancing/reverse proxy capabilities as well as a web application firewall to protect our web application environment and website. We use the technology across the entire organization to solve the issue of site performance and availability issues of our applications to external users when booking and managing events.
  • For a technical product, Kemp is fairly easy to use and performs as advertised without having to continuously log in to find out what's happening.
  • Kemp combines web security with load balancing in one package at a price point that worked well for our constrained budget.
  • Kemp's customer support and professional services are second-to-none, and much better than what we experienced with a previous product.
  • The Kemp user interface is a bit outdated, but it is still effective.
  • These products still require some knowledge of networking, and if you deploy as a virtual machine, you need to understand some aspects of VMware.
  • Kemp has helped us reduce our total cost for this type of technology by about 50% while giving us well-rounded capabilities for ensuring our web properties remain active.
  • The best part of Kemp is the fire and forget model. We don't have to worry about it doing its job.
Kemp support is unlike we have seen from any other tech vendor. It truly is outstanding, and they even helped us resolve issues with our VMware environment that had nothing to do with the Kemp deployment. That combined with the pricing flexibility and the option to deploy into the cloud as we needed really made the difference for us. We saved money in the end.
The Kemp support team is outstanding, and as mentioned in another section, they were very helpful it not only helping us better understand the technical capabilities of Kemp, but also Mike helped us resolve an issue with our VMware environment that had nothing to do with the Kemp deployment. The Kemps actually tipped us off to the issue. These guys are truly experts and didn't give us the run-around.
Usability is great. While the interface could use a tune-up, that didn't set us back at all. The best part is not having to worry about the product doing its job. Our team is not large, so not having to constantly log into the system is a big deal for us.

Kemp is great for organizations that feel they have been squeezed by traditional higher-priced load balancer vendors (F5). Kemp stood out from day 1 with a lot of flexibility in how you can deploy and purchase the products, and as a software product, they give you a seamless experience whether you deploy it in the cloud or in your existing networking closet/data center.
