Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As part of the process of becoming certified as GDPR compliant, LearnQuest has has to implement several end-user awareness training modules for all employees to take. Part of the audit procedure is to show a log of what was taken, when, and by whom, to show a record of awareness training completeness. The KnowBe4 interface, reporting, and content has been amazingly easy to use and excellent for our needs. The options for content type, length, language, and style made it very palatable to our user-base, as well as fairly easy for the admins to setup, track, remind, report, etc..

Return on Investment

Within 1 week after releasing privacy awareness training modules to our staff, I started receiving comments and questions about our services, processes, interfaces, and policies related to privacy concerns in the course of normal project conversations - that I have NEVER before gotten at this company. That made it all worth it.
Our users' failures with phishing (email) scams has begun to decrease significantly since we provided some phishing awareness modules. More items are being reported and less users are being misled.

Legislative Requirements

GDPR - thus far. But as we are a company with offices in several countries and customers in almost all of them, we intend to continue to explore more regulatory requirements in the near future.

Value of Centralized Services

As we do not have anything close to a dedicated team - or even a dedicated person - that attends to these issues, ease of use (for the admins) was a top 3 (if not top 1) feature we were interested in; otherwise we would not be able to execute any such trainings.

Training Contents

Well, there are a variety of styles, as previously stated. This is a good thing, as not all styles or lengths fit all audiences. That being said, some of the offerings are pretty elementary-looking and/or tedious. But overall for what I have seen so far, I think the content if a lot better, on average, than it could be.

Likelihood to Recommend

Areas where users (of various roles, including "everyone") are more or less required to process through content; like phishing and cybersecurity awareness, privacy concerns, basic employment concerns, etc. are great examples of where this tool excels.

But at higher-levels of training or responsibility requirements, it is less valuable as a compliance tool, yet still valuable as a training and reference library. One simply cannot rely on the fact that someone clicked through some "slides" and answered some questions to indicate a level of competence or understanding at a high level.

Future Planned Uses

We have other areas of training that we have historically ignored. Our HR department is currently considering the options for additional areas of use for KnowBe4.
