Overall Satisfaction with KnowBe4 PhishER/PhishER Plus
Receive suspicious emails from all staff, previously we used Mimecast where reported emails would go into the void. With PhishER, we are able to receive instant reports if an email is malicious. Also, it is fantastic that we are able to run queries and remove suspicious emails from colleagues mailboxes automatically.
Pros
- One platform that integrates reported emails and using PhishFlip to educated staff.
- Automation to remove malicious emails from mailboxes.
- Instantly report back to users if an email is safe or malicious.
- Easily review vital technical information to help you make a decision if an email is a threat.
- Allow comments to be left from staff and IT.
Cons
- Use AI to run queries when searching for similar emails. I have seen some emails that have the same subject but there are different recipients. Queries do not run correctly as there is a minimum of two requirements to pull emails from users mailbox.
- Allow an area for comments to be visible internal to IT staff and to users who have reported. At the moment, we have to email or reach out to the user to elaborate on the comments they have left. If it has a built in ticketing/commenting link, they can see their comments/responses and reply direct. Even maybe when we leave a comment on a report, they can receive an email and they can reply back in email and it goes straight into the PhishER report.
- Not sure if it is possible but when we block emails in PhishER, it would be great if it syncs across to Mimecast. At the moment, we have to copy and manually block the email in our Mimecast filter.
- There has been a 700% increase in emails being reported now. Previously, staff were only reporting 4 emails a month. It is easier for us to promote the phish alert button, receive automated remediation and rapidly respond.
- We had no reports on the amount of phishing emails were coming through Mimecast but now we have reports for the board of trustees.
- Every Wednesday we talk about cyber security to all staff, PhishER allows us to point out the trend and what to look out for which raises awareness. Never before were we able to talk about cyber security like this.
We no longer need a dedicated SOC Analyst to look at emails. I can now work on engineering to improve the overall security of the institute. One less area to have support staff to be reactive on reported phishing emails.
We have implemented all, just PhishFlip we wish we could use more but that is because we need a discussion and need to review what is suitable for all staff.
