Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

Kofax Power PDF is a core software for us. It has been used to convert other PDFs into a useable/formattable document. This includes Excel spreadsheets that we needed to convert so as to validate the formulas used as being correct or not. Redacting documents is a breeze. We love that bates stamps can be removed if we need to change anything in the log and then reassigned. Edits, notes, comments, all are easy to use.
  • Insert. Easy to add pages where we need them.
  • Extract. Easy to pull pages to create a separate document.
  • Making a PDF searchable. Excellent results.
  • Get rid of the auto detection pop-up that comes up every time a new document is opened.
  • Huge time savings which translate into cost savings.
  • Allows for heightened security measures in documents through redaction.
  • Excellent security for the use of signatures.
Kofax Power PDF is very easy to use. I have worked with other PDF software that was not as user friendly. With Kofax PDF almost anyone can start using it immediately. It is easy to explain to others how to use certain functions.
From my experience Adobe did not come close to providing the same functions with ease and efficiency. If we had a document of more than 50,000 pages, Adobe could not run OCR effectively and would often lock up. When converting Word docs or PowerPoint to PDF we found Adobe did not always paginate properly.
I've only called Kofax a couple of times and every time someone knowledgeable was on the phone within minutes, and able to resolve the issue. There was never the need for a callback. Problem solved every time.

Typewriter function. Document signature and certify. Redaction. Manage digital identities. Time stamp. Bates stamp. Linking. Export to Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
I have used Power PDF to make a 200,000 page document searchable thereby reducing research time by several days. Pages could be extracted to create a document that upheld the review conclusions. Using text boxes allowed us to comment on areas that we had highlighted.
