Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)
It's used to read all pdfs and convert other formats, e.g. Word, to pdf. We sell software that converts pdf bank statements to Excel so we are always opening pdf documents. We use them to reconcile the Excel output with the original statements.
Many times, the bank statements come in monthly pdfs. We use Kofax to Combine the monthly statement files into annual pdfs for faster processing. Then we edit the file in Document/Page Assembly view to remove unwanted pages and reorder documents. We also use Extract to remove pages.
In addition, we download attachments and print documents.

Pros
- Combine pdf files.
- View thumbnails of pages.
- Extract pages.
- Typewriter function.
Cons
- Filling forms is ok, could be better in terms of identifying fillable fields.
- Time savings.
I find it easy to use. Again, it saves time and enables me to prepare pdfs for processing by my program that converts pdf to Excel.
It's been so long, it's hard to remember. I believe price was an important factor. Now that I am used to Kofax, I would not change back to Adobe.
