Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

We are constantly creating, combining, editing, and sharing PDFs with our clients and partners. Kofax/Nuance makes the process simple and easy. We rely heavily on the page number, bookmark, and OCR features. We also like to use Kofax/Nuance to create customized, pre-populated forms and documents for our clients, which makes life simple for everyone, especially HR Managers.
  • Print / Create / Merge Documents into PDF.
  • OCR - Converting Scans to Text.
  • Track Changes.
  • The software is becoming aesthetically dated.
  • Speed loading time (Make it easy to disable background processes that I never really use).
  • Work out any existing bugs/glitches.
  • Immeasurable security - converting to PDF is safer than sharing original files.
  • Cost/Time Savings - a lot less copies/prints and a lot less time spent scanning, copying, etc.
  • Negative: Simply not as popular, well-known or widely-used as Adobe.
When I started using PDF software, I only knew of Adobe. I quickly learned Acrobat and found my way around that software pretty well. The switch to Kofax/Nuance was quick, simple, and seamless. It has a similar look and feel as Adobe; it has all of the same features; for the most part, the icons and menus are very similar in appearance and location; and the software, in general, is fairly intuitive.
When I started using PDF software, I only knew of Adobe. I quickly learned Acrobat and found my way around that software pretty well. I tried others, like PDFCreator, but I stuck with Adobe until I switched to Kofax/Nuance. It was quick, simple, and seamless. Again, Kofax/Nuance Power PDF does everything I need for a fraction of the cost of other/competitor software. The switch to Kofax/Nuance Power PDF was a breeze. The interface has some familiarity to it. We're able to create, collaborate, revise, track changes, password-protect, encrypt and share all types of PDFs - fillable, non-fillable, pre-populated, secure, etc.

The Kofax/Nuance Power PDF features most valuable to me and our business include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following: creating, combining, editing, revising, sharing, and collaborating on PDFs, both fillable & non-fillable; page number, bookmark, and OCR features; track changes; customization & pre-population of forms; document conversion; and password-protection, document encryption & security.
Kofax/Nuance Power PDF is robust and fully capable of meeting the needs of our small-to-mid-size business. Kofax/Nuance has allowed us to do everything we could do on Adobe software, but for a much more competitive price. Not only does Kofax/Nuance make it easy to create and share PDFs, but it can also convert all sorts of other files to PDF. The best part is you can share your work without someone having all of the metadata included in original file types, such as Word Docs or Photo jpg.
