Overall Satisfaction with Kronos Workforce Ready

We currently use Kronos for our employee payroll system, HRIS employee information, and keeping track of employee timesheets. The staff has the ability to request vacation time, personal time, or other days off through the request time off area in Kronos. We are in the process of implanting the new user experience for all staff, currently our management staff is all using the new system and some have downloaded the application that comes with it.

Pros

  • Time spent on processing payroll has decreased.
  • Elimination of paper products.
Kronos is able to work with the fact that we have a 24/7 265 operation, being in the long term care industry. For example, when we have an employee who works the overnight shift, Kronos is able to correctly apply her pay calculations just as easily and understand the shift that she is working.
Kronos allows me to build various reports that help me perform specific tasks and duties associated with my role. For example, every week we do a drawing for individuals who worked extra hours above and beyond their normal schedule to get a gift card. I can easily create and save a report in Kronos and run this every week to get the list of names to draw from. It's great!
I have listened to a few webinars and trainings before the implementation of the new Kronos user experience this year. I found it extremely helpful to figure out how to implement the training in a fail-safe way starting out by making copies of the security profiles that way if we were stuck we could easily switch back to the old version.
Kronos is ideal for human resources and business office functions involving large groups of employees. We are able to process payroll, approve timesheets, approve time-off requests, and submit all employee-related information all in one spot. When you have complicated pay systems, it is important to have it automated to some extent. For example, we use a variety of shift incentives, certain premiums for working weekends, etc.

Kronos is one of the most complex systems I have used. I have not used any other payroll systems before, but it seems like there are always 10 different ways to do the same thing in Kronos. Luckily, Kronos has amazing customer support. When you are dealing with something like payroll you always want to be 100% sure you are doing it right. So things like setting up deductions, third party vendors, etc. is actually pretty easy to do but it's nice to have customer support to verify.
