Overall Satisfaction with Lansweeper

It is being used for network audits and hardware and software management. It is used across multiple departments.

Pros

  • Software auditing.
  • Hardware auditing.
  • License management.

Cons

  • Ability to make different web layouts for different groups.
  • Better management of software licensing.
  • Better association of hardware to users.
  • Ease of removal of non-authorized installations of software.
It's so much easier to configure and maintain. We could never get BMC to work consistently where Lansweeper worked right out of the box.
Lansweeper works for auditing, software deployment and hardware tracking. It has gotten better with each revision. I haven't found something it lacks that they haven't fixed.

Using Lansweeper

25 - Tech services, Security, MIS
1 - Basic windows knowledge. To do more involved reporting some MSSQL knowledge is needed.
  • Software auditing

  • User to hardware association
  • Track usage or certain hardware by user.
  • Software deployment.
  • Using the new Ticketing software.
  • Using even more of the software deployment.
The price to function scale is so far towards function it would be stupid to get rid of it.
